Kubota BX2230 Temp Guage

Hi Guys,

I have noticed lately that the temp gauge on my BX never registers above the minimum level even when I have been working it fairly heavily on a warm day. Is that usual for this model?
The gauge is your typical analog display with a needle that goes from low to high, but the needle never goes above low and appears that it never gets off the peg. Do I have a faulty gauge or do these models just run "cool" and rarely register in the "normal" range?

Brian,
My temp gage needle never rises more 1/8" into the dark area on the gage face even when tilling in hot weather. Also, I have had to replace the wire that goes from the electrical harness to the sending unit. The connector broke off the factory wire so I made it a little longer then put a new connector on it.

OK....I did what I should have done before I posted this question...and that was check the wire connection to the sensor. It had jiggled loose. Crimped a new connector on it and guess what? The temperature gauge now works!

I had considered that the connection had come loose at the gauge end, but that appeared to be a bit difficult to get to. But had not even considered that it could have come loose at the sensor end, which is probably more likley.

Problem solved.
